Celebrating birthdays have become an integral part of our lifestyle.
Birthdays are also a good excuse to get everyone together for a good
time either at home or outside. Cards, flowers, gifts and the
eternal cake is what make a perfect birthday. Sometimes, one does
wonder who put together these traditions to celebrate birthdays in
the way we do today. Children are usually most excited about
birthdays as it marks an important day in their calendar. They are
most excited about the attention given to them that day along with

celebrations are the ones in which the child progresses a step
further in his life such as walking, talking etc. In America, it is
common to ‘spank’ or give ‘birthday bumps’ to children on their
birthday to mark the number of years completed. Birthdays
across the world are celebrated differently. In America it is common
to blow out the birthday candles and make a secret wish on
birthdays. In some parts of Europe, people fly flags outside their
houses to mark the birthdays of family members. It is common
knowledge that birthdays of famous people call for celebration by
