Birthday candles today come in all shapes and sizes. Earlier buying birthday
candles were a no-brainer. You would just pick up a pack of birthday candles
which were twirled and this and put them on the cake depending on the number
of years of the birthday girl or boy and add one more for good luck for the
coming year. The only disadvantage of this process was that the candles were
required to be lit up and blown out quickly so that the wax did not spoil
the cake.
Now
you can get birthday candles which ensure that no wax falls on the cake. You
can also buy smokeless candles which ensures that the people standing close
to the cake do not get bleary eyed. One of the most interesting birthday
candles are the ones which you can keep blowing at but they do not go
off. These are good for older children’s birthday, as they tend to
understand the humor of this antic.
You
can also buy shaped birthday candles which have the numerical design
depicting the number of years of the birthday girl or boy. Alphabetical
birthday candles can also be used as the children get quite excited seeing
their names spelt out on top of the cake.
Everything said and done, it is still nice to see an old fashioned birthday
cake decked with glowing birthday candles. The festive feel which the simple
birthday candles are difficult to replicate with the new modern and fancy
birthday candles! You may think that I am just being nostalgic about my own
birthday cakes years ago, but how do you compare the fun of blowing 15
birthday candles on a cake with that of a single numerical one? |
